What are your turnaround times?

My standard turnaround is 10 business days (about 2 weeks) I have rush options for faster turnaround for a fee. Please inquire if you need things done quickly or by a specific deadline. I always try to send work as soon as it is completed, this means you may receive your work early but it will not be guaranteed before the 10 days unless we have otherwise discussed an alternative due date. This turnaround time allows me the ability to make sure each project gets my full and careful attention.

How can I send you files?

I can accept files in whatever way works best for you, most people use something like Google Drive, WeTranser, or Dropbox share links (if you use Dropbox you must provide me with a share link, Click here to read how to create a share link directly from dropbox.com) If you use another sharing platform I can likely work with that as well.

What types of files do you accept?

I can accept files in just about any format. Most commonly Raw (dng, nef, cr2…), Tiff, PSD, Jpeg, for example or as Lightroom catalogs with smart previews.

When sending files other then raw, or smart previews, please be aware there may be editing limitations, for example color correction on a jpeg is significantly limited to that of a raw file format. That being said many clients looking for retouching send jpegs.

For large sessions such as weddings I highly recommend sending smart previews and if you need a how to on how to export and send me a Lightroom catalog with smart previews just let me know and i'll send that over :) Please note smart previews will only work for Lightroom editing, if your edits require advanced editing or opening in photoshop a raw file (or other full resolution format) would be required.

Do you offer free sample edits?

Not usually, but depending on what you need please reach out to me and discuss.

However, when editing your first session, I will go through and edit a selection of images from throughout the session and provide those to you for feedback, I'm very receptive to feedback and want you to let me know what I can do to adjust the images to best fit the editing you are looking for. I will re-work those until you are happy before completing the rest of the session.

I have an established editing style, Do you match it?

I work with each photographer to match your current style. I'm happy to use any actions or presets you may want me to use as long as you provide me with them. It is totally okay if you do not use any kind of preset. I can also use Anchor images to match your style, but again they are not required. I’m very flexible and happy to work with anyone from the photographers who want to send me how to videos to replicate their style to those who have a list of retouching/adjustments they’d like made. Please feel comfortable reaching out and discussing exactly what you are looking for.

What are anchor images?

Some photographers (especially those that post sneaks or a blog before sending me the files) like to include what I call Anchor images. These are a selection of images throughout the session that are already edited by you, I then use those anchor images to match and work off of for that section of the session. Anchor images are absolutely not required but I'm happy to work with them. They can also be helpful for photographers that adjust their style frequently or for each session and/or throughout the wedding day. (you are not charged for any anchor images already edited by you)

I’m not a professional, will you edit for me?

Of course! Most of my album design work is for none professionals, and I’m happy to provide any retouching or editing needs no matter your skill level or profession. One note if you would like me to edit photographs taken by another photographer other than yourself, please make sure you have permissions for them to be altered.

Are you still offering whimsy edits / santa whimsies?

Yes! I’m always offering my composite edits, so feel free to reach out at any time.

What exactly are whimsy edits?

This is just what I call composite images usually completed with home photographers, and often cell phone images. I take those photos usually of kids and photoshop them info fun and whimsical environments. Around the holidays these are often done to create magical pretend images with Santa. Please send me an email if you are curios about these. You may also find out more by checking out the blog post I made about the Santa Whimsies here

How do I pay?

Once I complete editing, I'll send you over an invoice via "Hello Bonsai" Once payment is received I’ll send you over the completed files. If I told  you I was sending an invoice but you haven't seen an email from bonsai yet please check your spam folder, otherwise please email.

Will you fix any problems found in the editing after they are delivered?

ABSOLUTELY! If you find any issues with the editing let me know and I’ll be sure to fix that right away. Any mistake on my end will be updated free of charge asap. If you find additional editing you’d like completed, or your client has new requests, additional fees may apply.

I don’t have an editing style, Can you make me one?

Yes! I love working with photographers to develop them an editing style, and even creating custom made presets. Check out my Edittique package for more information.

Does your website show all your work?

Not even close. I wish I could share with you every cool complicated edit I’ve ever done. But the reality of my work is that many of the photographers I work for don’t want their work shown, or their clients have many reasons they don’t want their images displayed on the internet. I respect everyone’s request for privacy, from photographers to clients. I do respectively ask for permission to be able to share the work and would love to be able to show off my retouching jobs, but if you for any reason do not wish your images to be shown simply let me know and they will never be displayed on my website. And because of that my website is a very limited display of work I’m able to do and have done :)
